Banana Joe's Most Frequently Asked Questions

Q:    How does Banana Joe’s offer Touch-Free, Soft-Touch and a Combination Wash when I see only one car wash machine?

A:    Our Autec Evolution-1 Combination wash equipment allows you to choose either 1) Touch-Free or 2) Soft-Touch or 3) an awesome Combination of both (called our “Going Bananas” wash). When you chose Touch-Free, the Polyflex Foam stays out, away from your car and the High-Pressure Nozzles activate. When you chose Soft-Touch, the Polyflex Foam moves in to wash your car and the High Pressure Nozzles stay off. When you chose the “Going Bananas” Combination wash package, both the Polyflex and High-Pressure Nozzles activate to provide you with our most comprehensive cleaning option.

Q:    What is the difference between Touch-Free & Soft-Touch?

A:    Touch-Free uses a special pre-soak soap and high-pressure water only   Soft-Touch uses soaps combined with Soft-Touch Polyflex Foam material to more thoroughly wash your car.

Q:    What is the “Going Bananas” Combination wash?

A:    Banana Joe’s “Going Bananas” Combination Touch-Free & Soft-Touch wash option provides our most comprehensive cleaning package by using both the Soft-Touch Polyflex foam AND the High-Pressure Touch-Free feature in the same package.

Q:    I don't have a lot of time to wash my car.  How long does it take.

A:    Our BANANA EXPRESS wash takes about 2 minutes and the top-of-the-line "Going Bananas" wash takes about three and a half minutes.  Then you drive through our 45HP blowers for a Power Dry that can take 45 to 60 seconds.

Q:    How can I pay for my car wash?

A:    You may use Cash, Credit cards, Debit Cards, or Prepaid Cards at Banana Joe’s.  You may also choose to receive a receipt.

Q:    I heard a long time ago that brush washes are not good for my car – is that true?

A:    Some brush washes – the  old-style nylon bristle wire type, for example -  may not  be good for your car.  Banana Joe’s uses  the new high-tech "Soft Touch Polyflex Foam”, which is used in luxury automobile dealerships across the country and recommended by car manufacturers.   In fact, our "Polyflex" creates a polishing effect on a vehicle's surface similar to that of a foam buffing pad used in a detail shop.

Q:    Will the car wash handle my truck or van?

A:    Typically, YES!  All vehicles except those that are over 83” tall, like conversion vans, or vehicles wider than 110", like dual-wheel pick up trucks, can use Banana Joe’s.  If you have non-standard exterior options you should remove those before entering the wash

Q:    The car-wash sure does a great job but looks like it uses a ton of water. How can this be good for the environment?

A:    Banana Joe’s washes cars with less water than the do-it-yourselfer in the driveway.  The Autec Evolution-1 Combination wash system uses 132 gallons of water for  the top-of-the-line “Going Bananas” wash: About 116 gallons are recycled and about 16 gallons are fresh.   That's an 88% water recovery rate.  According to the International Carwash Association,  do-it-yourselfer’s in the driveway use approximately 100 gallons per car and allow soapy discharge to enter storm drains where it flows untreated into nearby lakes and ponds.  At Banana Joe's, we filter our water before it properly flows to a municipal waste water plant where it is further treated.

Q:    I’ve tried Touch-Free washes before and they just don’t clean my car – does Banana Joe’s offer something else?

A:    Yes .  You may chose a Soft-Touch  or the Going Bananas Combination wash.  At Banana Joe’s you have the freedom to choose from 3 wash types:
1)
Soft-Touch – this is what nearly every luxury auto dealer uses
2)      Touch-Free – for those customers who want only high-pressure
3)      Combination of both Soft-Touch & Touch-Free – Our “Going Bananas” wash combines the superior cleaning of Soft-Touch plus the High-Pressure water of Touch-Free to provide the ultimate car washing experience

Q:    I’ve heard Touch-Free referred to as a “maintenance” wash – what does that mean?

A:    If your car is already fairly clean, Touch-Free can “maintain” the level of cleanliness that you already have.  However, if your car gets dirty , or has bird droppings or bugs on the nose or mirrors, most  car owners typically find that a Soft-Touch wash provides better results than a Touch-Free.
